Courses – Classes in Ballet, Pointe, Musical Theatre and Jazz are offered at various levels according to age and technical experience.
Children's Division – Pre-Kindergarten through 6th Grade - Introductory, Basic Beginner, Intermediate Beginner, Intermediate
Regular Division – 7th Grade and older – Beginner, Beginner Intermediate, Intermediate, Advanced Intermediate
Adult Division – Beginner, Beginner Intermediate, Intermediate, Advanced Intermediate
Performance Opportunities
Youth Company Membership – each year students are selected to join the School of the Garden State Ballet Youth Company. Comprised of students drawn from Randolph, Newark and Rutherford, the 40 member troupe's annual tours have brought them before audiences in over 70 New Jersey communities.
Workshops – workshops in Ballet, Jazz and Musical Theatre are offered for intermediate and advanced students. Workshops provide rehearsals and performances of new and traditional dance works staged by faculty and guest choreographers.
Scholarships – The School annually awards scholarships providing financial assistance to promising students in the Children's and Regular Divisions. The Newark School provides scholarship training opportunities to hundreds of urban children each year. Grants in support of the School's scholarship programs have been awarded by numerous corporate and individual contributors.
